She doesn’t believe non-citizens have First Amendment rights when it clearly states “the people.” Not “citizens”. I agree with her that rights are made up. Yeah we made the whole thing up, along with sanctity of life and things like justice and boredom. We invented them from whole cloth. That said, these are good things. Fictions or not they do good for civilization and mankind. We should empower them wherever possible. And in this case it’s right there in the text. So yeah she’s way off base with court precedent as well as any casual reading of the Bill of Rights
I’m confused. I thought you were defending free speech. It’s the Israeli lobby that is behind the anti free speech legislation that passed in Florida. It’s also the Israeli lobby that is offended by recent outbursts of supporters of Palestine on college campuses. If you say “The Jews killed Jesus” for instance you can be punished by proposed legislation in various jurisdictions all over America. If you want free speech for traditionally conservative agendas, it’s only fair to protect speech for the blue haired retarded lefty’s even if they are wrong.
Amen. Free speech for all or none. I tire of the groups who want the law to protect them but not constrain them and for it to constrain but not protect their ideological enemies
I'm pretty sure Ms. Mac Donald would entirely support Beatrice's characterization of the essence of Voltaire's stance of: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
